Even without an automatic watering system, you can easily water by running water down from the top planter. The drainage hole ensures that excess water runs through to the planter below.

The plants hang in the net above the water in the water reservoir. This prevents the soil from becoming too wet or soggy. If the soil were to get too wet, it could lead to rot at the roots. It also allows the soil to aerate well. The white strings allow the soil to slowly absorb the water from the water reservoir. This way, your plant will get continuous water release from the water reservoir. Do check every now and then that the water reservoir is not empty.

Made of polypropylene (PP)
The planter is made of the material 'polypropylene' also known as PP. This is a very sturdy but also flexible material. It can withstand high and low temperatures. with hot sunny days, the planters will not deform. When there is water in the containers and this water freezes, PP is flexible enough to bend with it. We do recommend having as little water in the trays as possible during frost. This prevents roots from freezing and minimizes the risk of deformation. PP is also known for not discoloring quickly. So the trays will be colorfast for a long time. Furthermore, the material is bacteria resistant. Bacteria do not grow easily on the material.
Easily recyclable
The material PP is very easily recyclable. So if you ever get tired of your vertical garden (which we can hardly imagine), you can offer the trays to recycled plastic. Although it would be better to pass the trays on to someone else so they can turn them into a vertical garden!
